On February 1, 1996, a fire at the 20-story Crowne Plaza Northstar Hotel in Minneapolis knocked out all elevator service above the seventh floor. The elevator machines and controls sustained heavy damage. With great help from our vendors, we did what some considered impossible: returning the first car to service by April 1st, and adding the second and third cars by May 1st. |
